The Applecross Primary School Board has an official role, as defined by the Department of Education, which includes reviewing school performance; developing and reviewing the school Business Plan; reviewing and approving school budgets and charges; and establishing and reviewing the school’s objectives, priorities and general policy directions. In addition to this official role, we agree to be ambassadors and advocates for the school; develop a culture of service; support our staff, and be available to other parents.
2024 Board Chair Report
The School Board is composed of a committed team of parent representatives and school staff, working together to foster an environment where our students can excel and thrive. As we reflect on 2024, the collective efforts of everyone have contributed to a successful year marked by smooth operations in the activities of both the Board and the School.
A key focus this year has been the new Business Plan (2024–2026), which is progressing well. The plan outlines the strategic direction for Applecross Primary School and reflects our steadfast commitment to upholding high standards. Over the course of the year, the Board has diligently reviewed and refined key policies to ensure their relevance and effectiveness, addressing matters such as NAPLAN results, and has made substantial progress in collaboration with the Council on traffic safety around the school.
In 2025 the School Board will begin Term 1 with a complete Board, including the addition of new members who will bring fresh perspectives and ideas. Details of these appointments will be shared in the coming weeks. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Craig Boxham and Chad Paull for their dedicated service on the School Board. Their valuable contributions have played a significant role in the school’s ongoing progress. We wish them every success in their future endeavours.
